Star Wars: Trench Run 2.0 & Brass Monkey Launch
July 21st, 2010 by Mike Oldham
Many of you may have gotten small tastes of Star Wars: Trench Run 2.0 and the Brass Monkey game controller from recent videos and articles. It’s literally been months of anticipation, but the moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived. We are pleased to announce that Trench Run 2.0 and the Brass Money controller have finally gone live in the iTunes store and on Starwars.com.
To bring you up to speed, Star Wars: Trench Run was originally released last fall. The new 2.0 version features additional levels and ship selection. Although the gameplay is the same on both platforms, the new web game also has improved graphics. One of the unique features to the game is the implementation of the Brass Monkey SDK. Brass Monkey was conceived and developed by Infrared5 and is way to control web based games (among other innovative applications) with your iPhone via a WiFi network.
So here’s what to do. If you’ve already bought the Trench Run in the past, all you need to do is update to the latest version. If you haven’t ponied up the dough for it yet, you should. It’s only $4.99 and the Brass Monkey controller is a .99 cent in-app purchase, click here. We may be partial, but I assure you that it’s worth every penny. Once you have the game open on your iPhone, go to Starwars.com and launch the game there as well. You will see the Brass Monkey icon in the bottom left hand corner of the web game. To pair your device, click on the Monkey and your device’s name will appear. *You must be on the same wireless network for it to sync.
Three simple steps -that’s all you have to do! It’s truly a one of a kind experience and represents our vision of what should be the future of gaming.
The feedback has been amazing. Here’s a few reviews on the game -Gizmodo, Kotaku, Pocket Gamer, IGN Wireless, MacWorld, GadgetsDNA …
We would also like to acknowledge all the hard work that went into creating this game. Thanks to THQ Wireless for supporting the effort and publishing the game. Thanks to LucasFilm for verifying we had every last detail true to the original film. And last but not least, thanks to all the developers and designers at Infrared5 that brought the game to fruition (you know who you are). The Force will be with you. Always.

Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.
